I’m a human oxymoron. A Midwestern girl who has spent most of her adult life on the coasts. A homebody who loves to travel. A former fashion editor who prefers tees and jeans. A food snob who’d rather cook at home than go out to the latest hip restaurant. A few of my favorite things: running, hiking, Van Gogh, NFL football, Mary Oliver poems, ocean kayaking, and big Western horizons. I’m drawn to art house films (I’ve never watched any movie for which there are sequels, prequels or any other “-quels”) and classics (I’ve seen The African Queen, oh… maybe 80 times). Give me a nonfiction book and a porch swing, and I’m happy. I like writing about everything: cool visual artists, mushroom hunters, why our knees hurt, how to make a perfect fruit galette. I’d much rather ask questions than answer them. That’s probably why I like being a reporter and writer. Any questions?
